Powerlynx Now Has a Built-In Wi-Fi Reseller Portal

For many Wi-Fi operators, selling vouchers isn’t the challenge. The challenge is getting those vouchers into more places without opening new sales points or managing every sale yourself. Across Africa and other cash-based markets, local shops, kiosks, cafes and airtime vendors already serve the customers you’re trying to reach. They already handle cash transactions every day, making them a natural channel for selling prepaid Wi-Fi vouchers.

The Powerlynx Reseller Portal was built around that business model. Instead of selling every voucher directly to end users, operators can build a network of independent resellers who purchase voucher batches at wholesale pricing, add their own margin and sell vouchers to customers. Operators receive payment before voucher batches are issued, while resellers generate immediate cash from every voucher they sell. The entire reseller operation is managed from the same platform as the hotspot network, without introducing another system to maintain.

What Is the Reseller Portal?

The Reseller Portal is a dedicated workspace for reseller organisations. Every reseller receives their own account and balance, while operators decide which Wi-Fi plans can be sold, where vouchers are valid, what wholesale pricing applies and which payment methods are available. Resellers never access the main Powerlynx administration panel. They simply log into their own portal, purchase voucher batches and manage sales independently, while operators continue managing the hotspot network and the commercial side of the business from a single platform.

Why Operators Build Reseller Networks

Selling vouchers directly works until distribution becomes the bottleneck. Most operators can’t be everywhere their customers are, but local businesses already are. Grocery stores, kiosks, hotel receptions, cafes and community agents interact with customers every day and already sell products like airtime and electricity. Adding Wi-Fi vouchers to that list is a natural extension of the business.

Instead of opening more sales points, operators can sell voucher batches to reseller organisations at wholesale pricing. Resellers choose their own retail price, keep the margin and handle day-to-day sales themselves. Operators receive payment upfront, expand voucher distribution without increasing operational work and can monitor reseller activity, sales, revenue and balances from the same platform used to manage their hotspot network.

How It Works

The setup is straightforward and stays inside Powerlynx from start to finish. Operators create a reseller organisation, define the commercial model and decide which Wi-Fi plans, locations and payment methods are available for that reseller. Team members can be added with different roles depending on who needs access to voucher sales or financial information.

Once the reseller organisation is ready, the reseller can fund their balance in one of two ways. They can pay the operator directly, who then tops up the balance manually after receiving the payment, or they can use one of the integrated payment gateways to top up their balance themselves from inside the portal. Voucher batches are then purchased directly from the available balance, removing the need to contact the operator every time more vouchers are needed.

From that point, the reseller manages the sales process independently. Voucher batches are generated instantly and can be exported as PDF or CSV, printed or shared with customers by SMS. The operator no longer needs to create vouchers manually or keep track of every order, while still maintaining full control over pricing, available plans and reseller permissions.

Resellers can also top up their balance without waiting for the operator to process a payment. They simply enter the amount, choose one of the payment methods enabled for their organisation and complete the transaction. Once the payment is confirmed, the balance is updated automatically and can be used immediately to purchase new voucher batches.

Every voucher batch remains available inside the portal, making it easy to review previous purchases, download vouchers again or export them for printing whenever needed.

How Resellers Manage Voucher Sales

The Reseller Portal is designed around how resellers actually work. Instead of requesting new voucher batches from the operator every time stock runs low, resellers can purchase vouchers whenever they need them, set their own selling price and distribute vouchers using the method that suits their business. Some print voucher sheets for over-the-counter sales, others send voucher codes by SMS or export them for their own sales process.

Every sale remains visible inside the portal. Resellers can see what they paid for each voucher batch, the price they sold vouchers for and how much revenue they’ve generated over time. This gives them a clear picture of their business without having to keep separate spreadsheets or manual sales records.

Operators have the same visibility from their side. The Analytics tab provides a consolidated view of reseller activity, including revenue, voucher sales, sell-through performance and outstanding balances across every reseller organisation. Instead of collecting reports from individual resellers, operators can monitor the entire reseller network from a single dashboard.

Because reseller vouchers remain part of the main Powerlynx platform, operators can also see which vouchers were generated by resellers, which organisation they belong to and how they move through the network. Everything stays in one system, while reseller organisations continue operating independently.

Where This Model Works Best

The reseller model works anywhere prepaid Wi-Fi vouchers are already part of the business. For ISPs and WISPs, it creates a network of local agents who can distribute vouchers without becoming part of the operator’s day-to-day operations. Hotel groups, shopping centres, business parks and public hotspot operators can also give individual locations or partners their own reseller organisation while keeping commercial terms and reporting under central control.

It’s equally useful for operators who already work with resellers and those planning to build a reseller network for the first time. Instead of managing voucher requests over phone calls, WhatsApp or spreadsheets, the entire workflow is handled through a dedicated portal while operators continue managing the hotspot network from the same platform.

The Reseller Portal is available in every Powerlynx licence. If you’re planning to build a reseller network or already work with voucher resellers, it’s ready to use.
