Powerlynx
FNB Voucher

How it works

FNB Voucher is a prepaid voucher from First National Bank in South Africa that turns cash into a PIN. It connects to Powerlynx through a Flash merchant account with the Exclusive Voucher product enabled. Navigate to Config / Finance / Payment Gateways / FNB Voucher in Powerlynx, select the Flash platform, and enter the credentials issued by Flash.

Powerlynx supports both Flash platforms: Keycloak + Glu Control, the current platform for all new merchants, and FlashSwitch, the legacy platform. Keycloak + Glu Control uses a client ID and client secret together with an API key, and FlashSwitch uses the API key only. When Flash switches the legacy platform off, payments stop until the configuration is moved to Keycloak + Glu Control with the new credentials.

At checkout the customer chooses a data plan on the splash page and enters the voucher PIN. Powerlynx validates the PIN with Flash and grants access once it is confirmed. FNB Voucher can be set as the default account for all locations or linked to a single location, and is then enabled per location in the Payment Gateways tab.

What this integration provides

  • Payment with an FNB Voucher PIN at the captive portal.
  • Support for both Flash platforms, Keycloak + Glu Control and FlashSwitch (legacy).
  • Production and Staging environments with separate Flash credentials.
  • Per-location account configuration, so different locations can use different merchant accounts.
  • Flash’s rejection reason shown to the customer when a PIN is declined.
  • Automatic payment reversal when the connection to Flash drops before an answer arrives.
  • Payments tracked under Finance / Payments in Powerlynx.

Credentials required

Flash platform, API key, Account number and Product code from the Flash merchant account. Client ID and Client secret are required for Keycloak + Glu Control only. Store ID, Terminal ID and the Token URL and API base URL overrides are optional.
