Connect Cambium APs to Powerlynx via RADIUS

How it works

Cambium access points connect to Powerlynx via RADIUS over a direct Public IP connection — the only available connection type for Cambium devices in Powerlynx. The AP handles local Wi-Fi delivery and forwards authentication and accounting requests to the Powerlynx RADIUS server on ports 1812 (authentication) and 1813 (accounting).

Hotspot configuration is done through cnMaestro. You create a WLAN, configure the RADIUS server under the RADIUS Server tab, and enable Guest Access under the Guest Access tab pointing to your Powerlynx redirect URL. A NAS Identifier is set on the router and must be added to both the location SSIDs field and the splash page SSIDs field in Powerlynx — this is how the system matches the AP to the correct location and splash page.

Walled Garden

Walled Garden hosts must be added in cnMaestro under the Guest Access White List tab. The required hosts depend on which payment gateway you use — each gateway has its own set of domains to whitelist.

Used by operators deploying enterprise-grade Wi-Fi who already run Cambium hardware through cnMaestro. Connecting to Powerlynx requires RADIUS server configuration in cnMaestro and NAS Identifier setup — no extra hardware, no VPN client.
