Powerlynx empowers businesses to boost Wi-Fi hotspot monetization with ads

April 23, 2024

Powerlynx new service is live now. Set up and launch your first ad campaign for Wi-Fi Hotspot users in a few simple clicks.

What’s happened

Today, Powerlynx, the go-to WiFi management solution from leading ISP billing and network management provider Splynx, launched a dedicated AD module. It aims to boost hotspot monetization and engagement by displaying video and image ads to end-users once they connect to the Wi-Fi network.

Why it matters

Today, the most popular methods of monetizing hotspots are usually credit card payments or special paid vouchers. But what about businesses or public venues that want to give free internet for clients and a decent amount of revenue? That’s where the ad-supported model comes in and is thriving now. It shows hotspot user ads on a splash page, which is the best time-proven solution for now.

Here’s what this means for customers. Before connecting to the Wi-Fi network, they must provide a phone number or email address and view a short advertisement. And for that, they get free Wi-Fi.

Advertisers, for their part, want to ensure the performance of their ads. They are ready to pay to reach the target audience and evaluate the overlap amongst their channels, favoring those that provide the highest impact in terms of value. So they also get what they need.

Lastly, this is a win-win opportunity for businesses. Nowadays, fast-speed and stable Wi-Fi is a must-have for HoReCa and healthcare. It gives customers an extra reason to patronize particular places. Moreover, it boosts the average spend per customer. Additionally, it can carve new revenue streams from advertising partnerships.

Powerlynx new Ad module: Simple and easy setup and manage ad campaigns

The process is simple and pretty straightforward. Setting up and launching the first ad campaign takes only one minute. First, navigate the Adverts module and click the “Add” button. Then, in just a few steps, configure everything and fill in all fields individually. After that, select the start and end dates for running the ads. Also, set up specific locations for ads to show, create a splash page, etc. The ad type is video; the maximum upload size now is 100 MB.

Then, along with the uploaded video, all parameters that can be modified will be displayed. Also, for photo ads, there is an opportunity to set a specific timer to skip the ad and connect to Wi-Fi. Additionally, you can find out at any time how many people see a particular ad — a field called ‘Ad view counter’ is at the bottom of the menu.

After selecting a plan, a video ad is displayed to customers, with no option to skip it. They must watch the video in its entirety to gain access to the internet. So everybody wins.
